ABOUT THE LOGO

The logo is a Greek sculpture dating from 200BC.

The history of wine making in Italy goes back thousands of years. As I represent wineries which have a love of tradition and native grape varieties, the sculpture captured the art, history and beauty of what I represent.

I visited the National Archaeological Museum at Florence searching for this sculpture. It was not there. An official told me it was at the Villa Corsini. It was not there. Then I searched the Polo Museale Fiorentino website which has a digital archive of the holdings in Tuscan museums. Again it was not on record. With the very obliging help of museum staff I discovered that the sculpture was the property off the Belle Arte Toscana. After more investigation and enquiries I arranged an appointment to view the sculpture. It is located in a cupboard in one of the museum depositories. Briefly it saw the light of day when with the helpful assistance of museum specialists it was placed on a table so that I could photograph it.
